Dustin Ward
President/Founder of It Is Time….LLC
Dustin Ward, hails from Presque Isle, Maine, after being adopted as a 2-month-old from Melbourne, Florida and is a graduate of P.I. High School (’06). With his sights set on becoming a lawyer, he landed at the University of Southern Maine, achieving a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Economics. His desire and love for law, politics, and ethnic and racial studies grew during his time away at college.
Upon graduating from U.S.M, he felt called into ministry in 2012, pursuing additional education at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, obtaining a Master of Divinity (’19). He returned to Maine after being away for 3 years, hoping to enter into ministry work, to become a Pastor.
Turn Towards Action
While experiencing racism in many facets of life, from school to church, it was the death of George Floyd in 2020, which became a catalyst for him to step away from ministry. This lead to a focus of ending racism in communities all across Maine, becoming a Racial Equity and Reconciliation Advocate, and founding his own business It Is Time…LLC.
Dustin also is an Honorary Member for Mindbridge, a non-profit focused on bridging human rights work through the use of psychological and neurobiological science, and a Board Member and partner with Atlantic Black Box, a non-profit focused on uncovering and educating on New England’s connection to the Global Atlantic Slave Economy. He also is the first Person of Color to become a Select Board Member of New Gloucester.
